M1 Singapore Fringe Festival
Singapore (Singapore)
7 - 18 Jan 2009
With a different theme each year, the M1 Singapore Fringe Festival brings cutting-edge theatre, performance art, film, dance, visual art, mixed media and music to Singapore.
The M1 Singapore Fringe Festival was launched in 2005 as a platform to create meaningful and provocative art. Participating venues usually include the Esplanade, Jubilee Hall, National Museum, Singapore Art Museum and more.
The theme for the 2009 M1 Singapore Fringe Festival is 'Art and Family'. The two stand-out events for this year's festival, as chosen by organisers Necessary Stage, are
Frozen Angels, a Singaporean play about how advanced stem cell research impacts on human life, and
Museum of Broken Relationships, an exhibition from Croatia about failed relationships.
